Caimbria’s 4 week Team challenge

Before starting this challenge, I had already begun my weight loss journey back in February, but I’d hit a bit of a rut. Progress felt slow and motivation was dipping. Taking on this challenge gave me that extra push I needed—helping me shed another 8lbs. It hasn’t been easy by any means. There were definitely moments when all I wanted was to grab a bag of sweets or dive into some comfort food. But pushing through those cravings taught me a lot.

As a busy mum of three, one of the biggest lessons I learned is that prepping my meals in advance is absolutely key. When life is hectic, having healthy food ready to go stops me from grabbing the first thing I see. I also stopped overthinking my meals. Sometimes lunch was as simple as grilled chicken, veggies, and yoghurt with spices—quick, clean, and satisfying.

Looking back, I think I was unintentionally eating more than I realised between February and April. The structure of the challenge forced me to become more mindful about what (and how much) I was eating. It really made a difference.

Two really positive habits have stuck with me:

1. I’ve made time for regular walks and now go to the gym twice a week.

2. I’ve been more mindful about getting my steps in—I actually have to think about it. It’s little things like parking at the furthest spot in the supermarket car park or taking the stairs instead of the lift. Every step counts, and being intentional about movement throughout the day really adds up.

I’ve also been eating much cleaner overall. Yes, I’ve allowed myself the occasional treat—it’s all about balance—but I’ve realised that daily treats really stall progress. Cutting back helped me feel more in control and see better results.

Interestingly, I went on holiday during the final week of the challenge and finished it a bit early. I indulged in more sugary foods than usual and quickly noticed the impact: a sore throat, low energy, and a general feeling of being off. It was a big reminder of how much better I feel when I fuel my body well.

So my advice to anyone who wants to get in shape is to reach out.

The Challenges are really a great motivator if you feel like me you are stuck.
