AT KATE CAMPBELL FITNESS
POSTNATAL FITNESS
Congratulations You have taken the first step to unlocking your true potential
Your body begins an incredible journey from the moment of conception. For nine months, it works to provide a safe and nurturing environment for your baby to grow and develop. This amazing feat might feel like a distant memory after your newborn finally arrives, but the remarkable process that took place should be celebrated and appreciated. YOU ARE AMAZING!
YOU MATTER, and working with me and my team is your chance to experience a positive start to restoring your core strength, progressing your cardiovascular fitness and retraining your muscles to support the demands placed on your body during this period of your life.
By focusing on your lifestyle and needs, our personal training programs, classes, and courses will reignite your eagerness to learn and support you in developing the necessary physical, nutritional, and mindset skills to go beyond the three weeks and reach your ultimate long-term goal.
Getting your body back after birth is often seen as something that has to be done, a non-negotiable and something all women want, whether it’s media influence or your own desire.
Returning to exercise after having a baby is often on women’s minds, whether you are a seasoned exerciser pre-pregnancy or not.
The truth is that it takes time. Building a strong foundation from the start will allow your body to heal, adapt, and function without pain and to progress without fear.
When I was a midwife and now even more so as an experienced expert in the field of postnatal recovery, the question I get asked the most is
‘Kate, how soon after birth can I start exercising again?’
If you're reading this, you're likely interested in learning more about the services we offer at Kate Campbell Fitness and how we can help you.
Our aim from the start is to provide you with the necessary practical information and guidance to enable you to build a strong body through healing nutrition, core recovery strategies, and exercise support. We are here to deliver safe and effective exercises and to provide you with expert knowledge on how to nurture your body throughout this exciting time in your life.
To answer the question: When can I start exercising again? You can begin your core and pelvic floor rehabilitation within 24 hours after giving birth! YES, you can start almost immediately. BUT DO YOU KNOW HOW? If not, then let’s have a chat.
Embrace the 3 Cs as you begin your recovery journey; they will guide and support you along the way!
Concentration and connection leads to improved body awareness and faster recovery. Slinging and feeding for long periods of time can exacerbate backache, shoulder pain, and pelvic heaviness. So concentrate and commit to small daily mobility, abdominal activation and pelvic floor connection during daily activities of life like lifting!
Commitment New mums can often be impatient to see results and if results aren’t achieved fast enough, give up. However, when it comes to a strong core, functional pelvic floor and strength gains, time, patience and commitment to the right progressive program is your friend.
Change can be hard but necessary If your aim for example is to get back to running. Running too soon without progressive strength training and the correct nutritional habits could lead to an increased risk of injury and impaired healing. Changing your expectations to allow for recover is essential.
These three components form a tried and tested formula that can help you achieve the strength gains you seek.
With dedication and effort, this pathway will allow you to make gradual progress as you move towards your goals.
When you sign up for any of our postnatal programs and courses, you receive comprehensive guidelines and practical support.
