Since opening the gym, we have worked hard to promote men’s health, fitness, and strength, and I am proud to say it has been successful, with every age group benefiting from the support we provide.
The honest answer, the main reason, is that we have everything you need—minus the ‘muscle heads’ grunting, sweating, and hogging the weights in the corner, and the techno music! Plus, who says it’s only women who want to look good, feel strong, stay mobile, lose weight, and seek accountability or guidance on strength and fitness training? You’ve told us you do too.
For some of you, it’s been a long time since your early gym-going days with pals, sipping protein shakes, and doing a 1 rep max. However, fitness still plays an important role as a weekly pastime. But what’s missing….
Progressive Strength training - lifting weights
Sports-specific Training
Core and abdominal strength
Cardio conditioning
Stretch
Movement
Flexibility
Release - Foam rolling
Prehabilitation
Massage and Sports Therapy
The above are all important considerations when setting personal goals, because simply engaging in cardio activities, such as running around a pitch, playing tennis, golf, cycling, or running, does not improve strength. Endurance, yes, but strength, no.
YOU NEED TO BE STRONG to cycle, run, and quickly change direction on the field or court. It's also crucial, as you age, to have enough strength to be able to get up after a fall.
If you rarely engage in strength, lifting, and postural exercises, it's easy to understand why you might face any of the following issues:
Injury and slow recovery - Postural aches and pains - Back problems - Knee pain - Shoulder pain - Hip pain
What holds many men back from strength training?
ANSWER: not knowing what to do!
So that’s where our Little Gym comes in.
The moment YOU walk in the door, whether it’s to become a gym member or a personal training client, we start with a chat.
We listen to your needs, your previous experience, and what you want to learn more about, and discuss how we can help you achieve your goals with the programs on offer.
We’ll show you our ready-made workouts, which you can use on your own in the gym. If you decide that personal training is right for you, a customised program will be designed.
